Food

In our house, food is king. My middle child, Madden told me the other day he loved food more than me. So you see where I stand around here.

Everyday when I pick the kids up from school, the first thing they say to me is what they want for dinner. All day I hear about what food they want. I think that’s all they think I’m good for.

One day as I’m sitting on the couch, relaxing, watching tv, my daughter comes up to me and asks me “Why you’re not cooking?” Then they proceed to follow me around to ensure that I make it into the kitchen to make them a meal.

The plus side to their love for food is that food is able to solve all issues around here. Whenever there’s a meltdown, I just yell “Who wants a snack?!” and everything calms down as I retreat to my room and the peace that has just been restored.

The Mess Begins

This is my first blog post and I’m not 100% sure about how this goes…. Since I needed to talk about a topic I know a lot about and am passionate about, I chose parenting. Being a mom is the BULK of my life and influences every single decision I make. However, I consider myself a “Hot Mess Mama” and tag myself as the “World’s OKest Mom”. I’m a single mom to 3 kids and I live about 2 hours away from my family so I’m riding this train alone, trying to make it day by day. My kids are my 9 year old son, Maliik. I think he’s going through “the changes” and we’re having a power struggle in the house. Then there’s my 4 year old son, Madden. He’s super sweet and overly emotional. Just a look will send him to tears *sigh*. And then there’s the woman of the house, my 3 year old daughter, Morgan. She’s all attitude and all diva. All. The. Time. So yea, that’s a basic introduction to me and my mess. I’ll update again with some of our craziness soon.
